La Cueva came into existence by joining a ruined house, a neglected chicken pen and a total ruin. We renovated everything with lots of care and love to the detail, trying to include mainly local materials: wood, river cane, esparto, stone and terracotta. The result are two very rustic and cozy houses (La Estrella and El Sol)that share the outside facilites, at the same time elegant, mixing its own distinct character with a Moorish charm. We are situated in the biggest of the 3 Guajar villages, 20 mins inland from the coast. This is still a living white village of mainly farmers. Sit in your hammock and hear the mules go by or watch them from the roof. In the mornings listen out for Jacinto, the fishmonger, when he shouts ‘vaaamoooos al pecaaoo’ (come on lets buy fish), or the veggie seller screaming ‘nina papas’. There’s an inner patio with 2 Moorish style sitting areas, a unique jacuzzi with waterfall set into a cave and a nearly 100m2roof top terrace with 2 pergolas and BBQ. Enjoy the magnificent views all over the valley and village below.
