Negative: Dear Booking.com Customer Service, I am submitting a formal complaint regarding a serious privacy concern and extremely unacceptable treatment I experienced at the Royal Hotel. After checking out, I discovered that I had left my wallet near the hotel pool. Another guest found it and kindly contacted me to return it. I later learned from him that he had first taken the wallet to the hotel reception, but the reception refused to accept it. Because my room key card was inside the wallet, the hotel was able to identify me as a guest. However, instead of accepting and securing my wallet, the reception reportedly gave my personal phone number to the guest so that he could contact me directly. I consider this extremely concerning. Why was my private phone number disclosed to another guest without my knowledge or consent? I provided my contact details to the hotel for purposes related to my reservation, not for them to be shared with third parties. Fortunately, the person who found my wallet was honest and responsible and made the effort to return it. However, the hotel should have accepted and secured lost property found on its premises, especially after identifying that it belonged to one of its guests. The situation was made considerably worse by the behavior of a female receptionist. When I went to the 8th floor to collect the wallet from the guest who found it, she questioned me rudely in front of other guests about why I was still in the hotel after checking out. I explained the situation. Later, after leaving the hotel with my family, I realized that I might also have left my eyeglasses in my room, number 1124. I returned to reception simply to ask whether housekeeping had found them. The same receptionist again confronted me publicly and questioned why I was in the hotel. She accused me, in effect, of previously "claiming" to be on the 8th floor and now "claiming" to have stayed on the 11th floor.
