The Monte de los Almendros Urbanization is an up-market community of over 370 individually designed villas that was conceived and inaugurated in the 1960s and has grown in reputation and stature over the intervening sixty years to now be considered as one of the top ten of Spain’s urbanizations. The community occupies an enviable elevated position overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and the Costa Tropical of Southern Spain, and is around one hour’s drive East from Malaga International Airport, or about a 45 minutes’ drive South from Granada’s Airport. The community is located just outside the town of Salobreña and the local amenities, shops, restaurants, cafes and beaches are, on average, less than a ten-minute drive away.
The vacation rental apartment has been extensively renovated and extended and is an annexe of the large two-storey villa ‘Haniya’, which, itself, is situated on the main road (Avenida de los Almendros) of the community and the entire property is owned by UK Nationals Susi and Paul Waring, who are usually available to welcome, inform and assist incoming guests.
This spacious apartment of around 90 sq.m. is an integrated unit, set at one end of the ground floor of the villa and has a secure gated perimeter with available private parking and independent access. Internally, the guest facilities comprise a sun room, lounge diner and fully equipped kitchen (including cutlery & crockery for ‘little ones’), large master bedroom with a 1.8m double bed, second bedroom with twin beds and an en-suite shower/wet room, (sufficiently wide enough for wheelchair access), family shower and bathroom, separate toilet, and a utility room that is complete with a dishwasher and washing machine. Both bedrooms have been designed to accommodate generously-sized fitted wardrobes and, if needed, a cot, highchair, baby bath and double buggy can be made available for smaller guests.
All living spaces are equipped with multi-speed ceiling fans and, in addition, the lounge diner and both bedrooms are fitted with hot and cold air conditioning units. Therefore, the apartment is ideal for both summer vacations and, perhaps, longer-term winter breaks with the possibility of 'working from home' in peaceful and idyllic surroundings.
Free fibre-based WiFi is available, as well as a satellite UK TV service that includes BBC 1, 2, 3, and 4, plus BBC News, BBC for children, Channel 4 and ITV1. Additionally, a separate local streaming service for Spanish TV offers over 40 live channels, as well as a multi-lingual video on demand service. As an alternative, there is also a DVD player and a small selection of popular movies and TV series, along with numerous games and puzzles.
