Summary: We had a lovely stay at the end of the summer holidays. Francis met us at the property, even though we arrived quite late, and made sure that we knew where everything was and that we were happy. The gîte is lovely, it was clean and while not the most modern it had everything you need. The layout is unique, you walk in off the terrace into the kitchen/diner which has a double height ceiling. The bathroom and toilet are also at this level. There is a small area with a desk up a couple of shallow steps (I think this used to be the actual bread oven?), then round up another few steps there is the living room and the twin bedroom. The double bedroom is up on a mezzanine floor with the stairs to this coming down into the living room. The air conditioning unit is at the top level, but as there is no extra door to the double bedroom it also cools down the rest of the property if needed. The pool is great, and the property is in a lovely quiet spot. You definitely need a car to get around, but there are plenty of facilities within a short drive including several supermarkets and then all of the attractions of the area are within easy reach. We really enjoyed and would recommend for somewhere quiet and relaxed to stay in this lovely area.
