In this beautifully renovated olive mill, many original details have been preserved such as the millstones and the oil jugs. The result is a holiday accommodation with a unique style and historic significance, with open, light spaces surrounded by thick stone walls that insulate warmth and cold.
The accommodation is divided into two buildings separated by the green courtyard of approximately 200 m2. This space is surrounded by a characteristic wall with wrought iron gate and contains lawns, flowers, fruit trees and a swimming pool (6 x 3 M.) (The pool is in use between May 1st and September 30th. From Oct. 1 to April 30. It is possible to prepare for use at a fee of € 200). Most of the time the rustling of the wind through the adjacent eucalyptus trees is the only sound that disturbs the silence.
The main house, with the large kitchen, dining room, living room (TV with Netflix and Youtube), hall and one of the bedrooms and bathroom offers a beautiful view of the green and fertile valley of the Rio Guadalfeo from the kitchen and the adjacent covered south terrace.
The total floor space of the house is 220 m2, a large part of which is occupied by the living room, which is suitable for larger groups.
The olive mill has 3 bedrooms. One of them with 2 single beds in the main building. The other 2 (with airco, 1 double and 1 with 3 single beds both with their own bathroom) are located in the house on a slightly higher level in the courtyard. Wifi in- and outside.

The "Granada Walk No 7" starts near the mill. From here it goes up into the national park and to the white mountain villages of the Alpujarras. In addition, there are also shorter hikes directly from the mill in the beautiful valley including one with lots of shade. In El Molino you will also find a telescope. Because there is absolutely no light pollution in the area, you can see very clear the starry sky close-up after sunset.
There is no car access to the house. Parking is below the house on the road that comes from Orgiva. FROM THERE IT IS A SHORT, YET STEEP, CLIMP TO THE MILL. Orgiva is 12 minutes by car from the mill and has shops, bars and restaurants to meet all your needs. Don't feel like leaving the house / terrace for a restaurant visit? With lots of love and experience we provide catering in consultation with regards to preference and / or diet. Transport from and to the airport can also be arranged. For a longer stay, an interim cleaning can be arranged.
From Orgiva the drive to the beach (Motril / Salobrena) takes 35 minutes and to Granada 1 hour.
On a hill overlooking the city of Granada is the Alhambra, the last fortress and palace of the Moors. Definitely worth a visit for its gardens and fine Moorish architecture (advance booking is recommended in high season).
