Positive: The location was lovely

Negative: We didn't receive instructions for checking in. We were left waiting for nearly an hour outside of the property, with lots of luggage (3 young women on their own). I was told to communicate via WhatsApp our arrival times etc, which I did. We then had a flight delay, and delays getting our hire car meaning we arrived at the accommodation around 1 hour after our expected arrival, around 6 pm. We tried to WhatsApp, text, email and call the number for check-in numerous times, but the phone number was switched off. I racked up a large bill surfing the internet, and phoning numbers for booking.com etc for help with getting in touch with the host, to no avail (numbers kept cutting off etc). Finally, a guest walked past and was able to help us. The key had been left in the door for us but there was no communication/confirmation for us to know this, and it was up several flights of stairs. Once we were safely in I sent another message to say as much, but never heard back from the host. The internet also didn't work, I chose the property with the internet as I had copious amounts of work to do whilst away, again meaning I have used my data roaming and racked up a large phone bill. Aside from this hiccup (after flight delays, and car delays) the rest of our stay was fine.

Summary: Disspointing start to the trip and awful WiFi but overall an OK property
